You may have noticed that we are listing our courses now at Todmorden Community College, also know as TLC (Todmorden Learning Centre) and locally referred to as Tod College! It’s been a long time coming but the college is finally in community ownership and courses are starting in September, there will be a good range of sewing and textile courses I’m really pleased to say, from a good range of sewists and textile artists. I’m really looking forward to teaching there and have been able to expand my class sizes slightly as the rooms are larger too. The light is very good, it’s central & accessible and there is even a tea trolley!!

I have kept course prices the same as I don’t want to price people out of learning to sew. I feel it ought to be affordable as  a basic skill, not a luxury! The increase in class sizes will help pay for the room hire, I’m limiting numbers to 10 as I feel that is my limit to teach well. I am teaching the same range of courses but will be teaching more upcycling I hope! There will also be textile art classes, upholstery classes, natural dyeing classes and hopefully much much more to come. I’m excited and pleased to be a part of it.

Currently there is lots of sprucing up and painting and general helping get everything ready that needs to be done. If you are a dab hand with a paintbrush or can help out in some other way please contact them on manager@tlchub.org.uk  or register at https://tlchub.org.uk/volunteer/

I shall look forward to seeing you there, either on the courses or doing some painting!
