We recently held an Open Day on Saturday 19th January. It’s the 3rd one we’ve had and all have been popular. We had free activities including learn to crochet, make a fabric brooch or fabric flowers, an excellent way to use up my ever expanding box of fabric scraps. It’s a good way to encourage people to come in and have a look around and have a chat to us, as well as showing off our workshop. There was plenty of tea and cake to keep people fuelled and I sold off some surplus fabrics as well. No matter how many things I make I always seem to end up with more fabric than I can ever use. I would need to sew several things every day for the rest of my life to use it all up. Much as I love sewing I doubt it will happen, so some of it just had to go. I do like our Open Days, there’s always a good atmosphere and people getting creative always makes me feel good, it’s amazing that every makes such different things using the same raw materials, creativity is truly an unique thing for each person.
