Make shorts or a ‘skort’ – Saturday day course.
August 3 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm£20 – £50
Learn to make either shorts or a ‘skort’ – shorts with a skirt piece at the front, one of my favourites.
You can either bring a pair of shorts, with an elastic or drawstring waist, from home to copy, in which case you’ll be done in no time. If you’d rather then we’ve a basic pattern to follow.
The pattern is suitable for either adults or older children. You will already need to have some idea/practice of how to follow dressmaking pattern but not need to be super skilled, it’s an easy pattern. If you don’t know anything about making a pattern from a garment but would like to learn then I’d suggest doing our beginners dressmaking course first. There’s one in June/July and one in September/October.
The course will run from 10.30 -4pm and will cost £50. This includes a copy of the pattern to take home with you.
Please pay a £20 deposit to book and pay the balance on the first session of the course. Look at the ‘deposit’ tickets to see how many places are left. Please ignore if the full price ticket says sold out, it’s there for information only. Places are determined by the deposits paid.
If you have your own machine we do advise you to bring it along, otherwise we can provide one at a cost of £5 per session. Everything else is provided as needed, but again feel free to bring your equipment if you have it.
We will have half an hour break for lunch, food is not provided but is available in several places near the workshop, or bring a picnic!
