If you’ve a favourite dress or skirt that’s not got long to live, then the best thing to do is learn to take a pattern from it and make another one. Great for resurrecting vintage clothes that you’d never be able to get again, or that skirt you’ve never been able to find anywhere else.
Simple garments are best to start with, darts can be tricky, but not impossible, pleats are fine to copy, and shift dresses or simple skirts are fab.
Bring along a couple of garments to try out, learn the basic rules of copying a garment, learn how to add seam and hem allowance and square up your pattern. And then there’s no stopping you.
As usual class sizes are small, teaching standard is high, and it’s a fun and informative session.
