A great second course if you’ve done our beginners sewing, or if you’ve learnt to sew things together but would like to add fastenings!
We’ll have a day of basic techniques that help you to make simple wearable items such as skirts, or accessories such as purses or pencil cases.
We’ll spend a couple of hours fitting 2 different zips, then master the buttonhole settings on your machine and learn how to accurately place a button. In the afternoon we will cover making a simple casing for elastic and one for a drawstring, then make a simple waistband. We can talk you through making a simple skirt so once you’re home you can use what you’ve learnt to make yourself a skirt! Or if that sounds a bit more than you’re ready for we’ve a few patterns for purses, pencil cases and zipped cushion covers for you to take home and consolidate your skills.
