We’ve had a few mum and daughter teams on our beginners sewing courses of late, and I’m glad to see that sewing seems to be gaining in popularity with younger people. With this in mind we are offering a dedicated beginners course for parents and children to come and learn all about your sewing machine and how to use it. If you are looking to encourage and support your child in their new interest, or wanting to something that you can do together, sewing together and learning to sew together is a fantastic thing to do. The course pretty much the same as our adults course, although there may be slightly less technical information, it’s still very comprehensive. Children are half price when booked with an adult, and it’s suitable I would say for ages 10 and up.
Week 1: Learn about your sewing machine, how it works and how to use it as well as how to sew straight lines, curves and corners.
Week 2: Checking your tension, changing your needle, sewing seams and hems.
Weeks 3 & 4: Making a simple item.
Thursday evenings 6.30-8.30. £75 for one adult and one child together.
