Cheeky sew and sew are running a 4 week beginners sewing course on 4 Wednesdays in May (6th, 13th, 20th & 27th May). The course will cover:
• Learning to use a sewing machine
• Sewing seams and hems.
• Making a simple garment or soft furnishings
The first week will be all about learning to use the sewing machine and some practice on sewing in a straight line, curve and how to turn corners! The following week will be all about sewing seams and hems, invaluable regardless of which item you decide to make. The rest of the course will be making your garment or item. Patterns and fabrics can be provided and you can make a basic item such as a bag, sewing machine cover or item for your home. Or if you have something in mind bring the pattern along and get sewing.
Class sizes are small, maximum is 6 people, and there’s plenty of one to one time, and opportunity to ask questions.
The course runs both afternoon and evening, 2-4pm or 6.30-8.30pm and costs £50.
This includes all materials, refreshments and use of sewing machines. Although if you have your own sewing machine please do bring it along, it’s always best to learn on your own machine if you have one.
